Det här är den första bilden som togs av mig. I dag är det 40 år sedan.

– Kom igen nu, ska du inte skaffa en båge, sa en kompis när vi träffades på Waynes igår. Eller varför inte en fyrhjuling? Ingen meskris nu, nånting rejält ska det vara.

Nu vet jag inte riktigt om jag tycker att en båge kvalificerar sig som en rejäl fyrtioårskris. Snarare tänker jag mig helt andra saker. Saker jag heller inte skulle kalla kris.

I går fylldes Twitter, Facebook, tv och tidningar av hyllningar till den bortgångne Steve Jobs. Väldigt många citerade och länkade till hans fantastiska Stanfordtal. Jag tittade två gånger och kände mig rörd och inspirerad.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Nu tänker jag utnyttja 40-årsdagen som en anledning att verkligen göra ett försök att lyssna till mitt eget hjärta och min intuition. Sen om det slutar som en ny hobby, en religiös eller politisk omvändelse, en helt ny karriär, flytt till främmande länder eller bara som ett par nya sneakers, dreads och en stiliserad spindel på högerarmen återstår att se.
